What is the best position to adopt for sleeping with reflux esophagitis?

Sleeping with reflux esophagitis is usually good in a head-high sloping position. Reflux esophagitis is caused by abnormalities of the lower esophageal sphincter and other reasons, resulting in a decrease in anti-reflux function, stomach contents easily gush out to the pharynx or mouth, and occurs without aura such as nausea and dry heaving. Normally, there is a burning sensation behind the sternum or under the xiphoid process, i.e. heartburn, which is aggravated by lying down, bending over and other behaviors such as increased intra-abdominal pressure, and also occurs mostly after meals and at night. Sleeping in a horizontal position makes it easier for stomach contents to reflux and develop heartburn. In order to avoid reflux when sleeping horizontally, GERD sleepers usually adopt the left side lying position or head-high slope lying position. This is because in the head-high slope position, the bottom of the stomach is located below and the cardia is above, and this position is not conducive to the reflux of gastric contents, which can reduce the symptoms of heartburn. Reflux esophagitis is recommended to consult a doctor in time, under the guidance of the doctor for standardized treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
