Long-term side effects of taking eszopiclone include drowsiness, dizziness, and weakness.
Adverse effects of eszopiclone are generally minor, with a wide safety range, and death is rarely caused by overdose. However, common adverse effects are mainly drowsiness, dizziness, weakness and memory loss, and ataxia is occasionally seen with high doses.
Tolerance to eszopiclone can develop under prolonged application, requiring dose increases. Long-term use does not exclude the development of dependence and addiction, discontinuation of use can occur rebound phenomenon and withdrawal symptoms, manifested as insomnia, anxiety, excitement, tachycardia, vomiting, sweating and tremor, and even convulsions.
Remember that eszopiclone can not be combined with alcohol products and central inhibiting drugs, which can easily lead to enhanced central inhibition, aggravate drowsiness, lethargy, respiratory depression, coma, and in serious cases, can be fatal.
