Treatment of headache after lumbar anesthesia

Headache is one of the most common complications after lumbar anesthesia, and can be treated according to the different degrees of headache. Mild headache can disappear on its own after 2-3 days of bed rest; for moderate headache, the patient can adopt a flat or head-down position, and can be relieved by daily infusion of 2500-4000ml of fluids and application of sedatives or intramuscular injection of small doses of analgesics; for patients with severe headache, in addition to the above measures, epidural cavity autologous blood filling therapy can be used, in which 10ml of the patient’s autologous blood is first extracted and injected through the epidural cavity After the injection, the patient lies flat for one hour and the efficiency can reach 97.5%. If necessary, a second treatment is feasible, and the efficiency can reach 99%.
