What’s wrong with the ulcers on the edge of the tongue?

Ulcers on the edge of the tongue may be caused by recurrent oral ulcers, traumatic oral ulcers, tongue cancer and so on.
1. Recurrent oral ulcers: Recurrent oral ulcers usually appear at non-keratinized or poorly keratinized mucous membrane, such as lips, tongue and cheeks. Most of them are related to low immunity, vitamin and trace element deficiencies, genetic factors, etc. They are self-limiting diseases and usually heal in a week or so.
2. Traumatic mouth ulcers: when there are sharp tips, residual roots, residual crowns or bad restorations on the teeth, the free swinging of the tongue during eating will lead to traumatic ulcers on the edge of the tongue.
3. Tongue cancer: when the ulcers on the edge of the tongue are not neat, with cauliflower pattern change or unclear boundary, tongue cancer may occur, and you should consult doctor for examination in time to make a clear diagnosis.
There may be other reasons for the appearance of ulcers on the edge of the tongue, so one should go to the hospital in time to improve the examination, and then take active treatment after clarifying the cause of the disease, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
