Medical explanation of angiomyofibroblastoma

Angiomyofibroblastoma (AMF), is a rare benign soft tissue tumor. It usually originates in the pelvic and perineal regions, mostly in the vulva of young women, and occasionally in the vagina, cervix and inguinal region, and occasionally in the testes or paratesticular tissue of men. The tumor is usually superficial and can be located deep in the dermis and subcutaneously, with clear boundaries but no exact envelope. The age of onset is 30-50 years, with an average of 42 years. The clinical presentation is a slowly increasing painless mass. The tumor is usually small, 0.5-14 cm in diameter, usually less than 5 cm.
