Is it normal for children to fart a lot?

Whether or not excessive farting is normal depends on whether the child has other clinical symptoms in addition to excessive farting. If the child has a normal diet, normal bowel movements, no obvious abdominal pain and poor mental status, excessive farting is generally a normal phenomenon. Most of the reasons are that children swallow more air when they eat, drink or even cry, and the gas enters the child’s gastrointestinal tract, part of which can be discharged in the form of burping, and the other part will be converted into farts from the anus. This leads to the phenomenon of excessive exhaustion. When swallowing food, some of the air will be swallowed into the digestive tract, and there will be gas in the blood seeping into the intestine, which will eventually produce farts; 2. The child may eat too much gas-producing food, such as sweets, potatoes or soy products, which can lead to more farts. If your child farts a lot but does not show any other abnormalities, it is usually normal and can be observed. If your child has excessive farting along with diarrhea, bloating, crying, abdominal pain and other symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor promptly and take medication if necessary.
