The prepuce is divided into true prepuce and inflammatory prepuce. All children are born with prepuce, and as the adhesions between the foreskin and glans are gradually absorbed, the foreskin gradually retracts backward to reveal the glans. If the glans is still not visible after the age of 4, it is called true prepuce. If the foreskin is repeatedly red and swollen and the foreskin mouth forms a fibrous narrow ring, resulting in the foreskin not being able to flip up to reveal the glans, it is called inflammatory prepuce. If the foreskin often covers the glans, but can be turned up to reveal the urethral opening and glans, it is called prepuce.
The foreskin can cause the following consequences 1, the outer opening of the foreskin is small, the foreskin has a bulbous bulge when urinating, affecting urination and easily causing urinary tract infections; 2, the foreskin can not be turned up for cleaning, the foreskin sac accumulates foreskin scale, stimulating the head of the penis to form inflammation, prone to white spot disease, penile cancer.
3, foreskin embedded will form edema, penis head pain and even glans erosion necrosis.
Treatment of prepuce True prepuce can be cured by expanding the foreskin mouth with instruments to make it bigger and turning up the foreskin frequently later. True prepuce, inflammatory prepuce, and circumcision that cannot be cured by circumcision mouth expansion methods require surgery. Those with foreskin imbedded should be treated urgently.
There are many surgical methods, at present, most of them are circumcision and mucosal method for the treatment of prepuce, using cosmetic techniques. The characteristics are simple surgery; neat and beautiful foreskin after surgery; the age of surgery is not limited, 6 – 12 years old is better .
