Dry throat and dry mouth may be due to physiologic or pathologic causes, the latter of which include dry syndrome, oral diseases, diabetes mellitus, and urolithiasis.
1. Physiological reasons: due to excessive exercise, reduced water intake, dry air, highlands and other areas leading to excessive dehydration, resulting in dry mouth and dry throat and other symptoms, it is recommended that appropriate water.
2. Pathologic causes.
(1) Dry syndrome: manifested as dry oral mucosa, dry eyes, burning sensation, skin flaking symptoms, some patients may be accompanied by red tongue, cracked lips, dry and cracked corners of the mouth.
(2) Oral diseases: such as chronic submandibular gland inflammation, mumps and other diseases can lead to a decrease in salivary secretion, appearing dry throat, dry mouth, dry tongue.
(3) Diabetes mellitus: poorly controlled diabetes mellitus can also lead to an increase in osmolality and promote diuresis, resulting in dry mouth, dry tongue, and dry pharynx, requiring endocrinology to control blood sugar.
(4) Uremia: clinical manifestations include polyuria, low specific gravity urine, irritable thirst, excessive drinking, and electrolyte disorders.
Dry throat, dry mouth and tongue, it is recommended to first go to the regular hospital stomatology department, diagnosed by the physician after examination or referral to the relevant departments.
