Patients with double uterus with dysmenorrhea can choose double uterine fusion or mediastinectomy for treatment under the guidance of doctors.
Duplex uterus is usually caused by incomplete fusion of the two paramedian tubes during congenital embryonic development. Some patients with duplex uterus may suffer from heavy menstruation, dysmenorrhea, lower abdominal pain, pelvic pain and other symptoms, which can be treated by duplex uterus fusion or mediastinal hysterectomy.
1. Double uterine fusion: refers to the fusion of unfused or incompletely fused uterus. When the patient has recurrent miscarriages, double uterine fusion can be performed after removing luteal function, chromosomal function, and immunologic factors. Fusion can normalize the shape and volume of the uterine cavity to facilitate the smooth progress of pregnancy.
2. Mediastinectomy: If the patient with double uterus is accompanied by incomplete longitudinal septum or oblique septum of the vagina, mediastinectomy is feasible, which can alleviate the symptoms of dysmenorrhea to a certain extent.
Patients with dysmenorrhea associated with a double uterus are advised to consult a doctor as soon as possible to find out the cause of the problem and choose an appropriate treatment plan under the doctor’s guidance.
