Symptoms of a child’s runny nose may be physiologic or caused by colds, chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, or other diseases. Treatment includes symptomatic treatment, anti-infection treatment and anti-virus treatment.
1. Symptomatic treatment: If there are other primary diseases, we can find out the cause of the disease, for example, use ephedrine and other drugs to relieve nasal mucous membrane congestion, use budesonide and other corticosteroids to reduce nasal mucous membrane edema and relieve discomfort.
2. Anti-infective treatment: For the clear presence of bacterial infection, penicillin, cephalosporin, macrolide, quinolone antibiotics can be selected as appropriate for treatment.
3. Antiviral treatment: If the runny nose is caused by viral infection, the doctor may recommend the use of antiviral drugs such as oseltamivir for treatment if necessary.
4. Other: Avoid allergens such as pollen. If the runny nose is caused by environmental or medication factors, the symptoms can be relieved by leaving the environment and stopping the medication.
Children need to be led by parents to regular hospitals for treatment, drugs should be used under the guidance of the doctor. If discomfort occurs, they should seek medical attention promptly.
