Five ways of chemotherapy for colon cancer

In recent years, colon cancer is gradually on the rise again, and colon cancer screening is once again elevated to the status that needs to be taken seriously, as human beings have a certain fear of death, but when it is really irreversible, there is nothing we can do. There are countless people who die from cancer, and colon cancer is one of the killers. People who are usually careful and cautious will detect the symptoms at the early stage, but some of them have no symptoms at the early stage, so it is better to have regular checkups. It is clinically found that most of the colon cancer patients with obvious symptomatic manifestations have reached the middle and late stage. Here, we remind all colon cancer related friends to pay attention to it. Guo Changqing, Department of Gastroenterology, First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University Chemotherapy methods for colon cancer 1.Intra-intestinal chemotherapy: during dissection, the intestinal canal is looped at about 8-10 cm from both ends of the tumor, and then drugs with saline are injected into the intestinal cavity where the tumor is located, after which the survival rate of 3, 5 and 8 years can be improved according to conventional surgery. 2.Arterial perfusion chemotherapy: Arterial perfusion chemotherapy is one of the important means of comprehensive treatment for malignant tumors. Selective arterial infusion chemotherapy is accurate targeted drug delivery, so that the high concentration of anti-cancer drugs is concentrated in the tumor localization, effectively killing cancer cells, improving the therapeutic effect of surgery, improving clinical symptoms significantly, with light adverse reactions, simple and safe method. 3.Portal vein infusion chemotherapy: liver metastasis occurs in up to 50% of colon cancer after treatment of primary foci. In order to prevent the occurrence of postoperative liver metastasis, postoperative portal vein infusion of drugs is more effective. However, its clinical value needs to be further confirmed. 4.Lymphatic chemotherapy: lymphatic metastasis is considered to be one of the most important ways of colon cancer metastasis. Traditional intravenous chemotherapy cannot solve the problem of lymphatic metastasis because of the low concentration of drugs in the lymphatic system, and only lymphatic chemotherapy can achieve effective drug concentration in lymphatic tissues and improve the effect of chemotherapy. 5.Celiac chemotherapy: When squeezing the tumor and cutting off the lymphatic vessels and blood vessels during the surgery of colon cancer, it may make the cancer cells fall off into the peritoneal cavity or make the cancer cells that have already spread on the peritoneum form tiny lesions that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Chemotherapy via the abdominal cavity can directly increase the concentration of anti-cancer drugs in the abdominal cavity, improve the local cytotoxic effect of the lesion and reduce systemic adverse effects. Although chemotherapy for colon cancer has certain side effects, they are negligible compared with saving the lives of colon cancer patients.
