What’s the pain in the right cheek?

Right cheek pain may be caused by trauma, epidemic parotitis, suppurative parotitis, temporomandibular joint disorder, wisdom tooth pericoronitis and so on.
1. Trauma: right cheek pain is caused by collision, extrusion, contusion and other traumatic injuries, resulting in local skin, subcutaneous tissue and even temporomandibular joint fracture, dislocation, and so on.
2. Mumps: acute specific inflammatory reaction of parotid tissue caused by mumps virus through upper respiratory tract infection, involving the right parotid gland, resulting in chills and fever, muscle pain, weakness and fatigue and other systemic manifestations, as well as local manifestations such as swelling and pain in the right parotid gland.
3. Suppurative parotitis: poor oral hygiene, blockage of parotid gland ducts and other factors lead to retrograde infection of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus along the parotid ducts, causing acute suppurative inflammatory reaction of the parotid gland. It mostly occurs in one side of the parotid gland, and when the right side is involved, the right parotid gland is red, swollen, distended and painful, and purulent secretion from the ducts exudes and other symptoms.
4. Temporomandibular joint disorder: it is mostly seen in 20-40 years old women, and may be related to mental tension, anxiety and depression, overbite and other factors. The main manifestations are temporomandibular joint rattling during biting and pain in the temporomandibular joint area.
5. Wisdom tooth pericoronitis: When the eruption of the right wisdom tooth leads to wisdom tooth pericoronitis, the infection may cause adjacent soft tissue infection, and in serious cases, the right cheek, ear root, back of the ear and even temporal pulling pain may occur.
Right cheek pain may be related to a variety of factors, and it is recommended to seek medical attention for a definitive diagnosis.
