Can your retina detach if you play too much on your cell phone?

Playing too much on the cell phone does not directly cause retinal detachment. Retinal detachment usually occurs when the eye suffers trauma and there is a degenerative area in the retina, or it is caused by proliferative retinopathy. However, playing cell phone for a long time may cause visual fatigue, myopia, etc. If high myopia is caused by playing cell phone, there is a risk of triggering retinal detachment. Prolonged cell phone play will cause excessive contraction of the ciliary muscle inside the eye and spasm, thus causing visual fatigue, patients will have eye soreness, temporary blurring of vision and other symptoms, if long-term visual fatigue is not relieved, it may lead to myopia. If playing cell phone leads to high myopia, there is a risk of retinal detachment. Therefore, patients should control the time of playing cell phone, in order to be more conducive to the health of the eyes.
