A negative pancreatic puncture biopsy is a good thing.
Generally patients who suspect pancreatic cancer and other pancreatic diseases and cannot be diagnosed after blood tests, tumor markers, ultrasound, abdominal CT, etc., will have a pancreatic puncture forceps to take pancreatic tissue for pathology to make a definitive diagnosis.
If it is negative, it means that the tissue taken is not abnormal, which is a good thing. However, since biopsies have a certain false-negative rate, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t have a pancreatic disease such as pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is a kind of digestive malignant tumor that is difficult to diagnose at an early stage, develops rapidly, and has poor therapeutic effect. 80% of the patients are diagnosed in the middle or late stage, so early diagnosis is especially important. If the puncture biopsy is negative, further examination should be conducted to clarify the diagnosis.
