Creatine isoenzyme is a type of myocardial enzyme profile. This enzyme profile is found mainly in the cardiac muscle cells, and if there is a significant elevation in the assay, it generally reflects damage to the heart muscle. One of the more common clinical causes is acute myocardial infarction and the other is acute myocarditis. Therefore, if there is an elevation of creatine kinase isoenzyme, it should be combined with other cardiac enzymes such as troponin and myoglobin to make a comprehensive judgment.
