Is death inevitable in gallbladder cancer?

Not all gallbladder cancer patients face death, and the cure rate is highly dependent on the stage of gallbladder cancer. Survival of gallbladder cancer patients is related to the stage of cancer as well as treatment. If the patient’s cancer stage is in Stage 1 or Stage 2 and the patient’s condition is mild, he/she can have a high cure rate after active treatment through surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. The 5-year survival rate of early stage gallbladder cancer can be more than 60% after surgery. However, the condition of patients with gallbladder cancer in stage three or four is more serious and difficult to be cured. Regardless of the stage of gallbladder cancer, the first and foremost principle is that it needs to be treated under the guidance of doctors. Early symptoms of gallbladder cancer are mild and not easy to be detected, and most of the patients will be in the middle or late stage once they are detected, so they need to consult doctors in time when they have discomfort in the gallbladder area. Once diagnosed, patients need to follow the doctor’s instruction to carry out comprehensive treatment.
