Is it possible to live a lifetime after a mini-stroke without a recurrence?

Mini-strokes, also known as transient ischemic attacks, have the potential to last a lifetime without recurrence if treated promptly and with standardized prevention.
Transient ischemic attack refers to transient, limited cerebral functional deficit or retinal dysfunction caused by cerebrovascular lesions. Clinical symptoms usually last 10 to 20 minutes and most often resolve within 1 hour; no symptoms of neurologic deficit remain; and there is no responsible lesion on imaging (conventional CT, MRI).
Transient ischemic attack has the risk of recurrence and development of cerebral infarction, so it needs to be timely given anti-platelet aggregation or anticoagulation, plaque stabilization and other drug therapy, and at the same time to control the risk factors. After timely treatment and long-term standardized secondary prevention therapy, some patients can be free from recurrence for life.
In case of transient ischemic attack, it is recommended to consult the doctor in time and follow the medical advice.
