The four tests for infection include HIV antibody test, syphilis antibody test, hepatitis B antigen test and hepatitis C antibody test.
1. HIV Antibody: HIV Antibody test is a test to screen for AIDS. after being infected with HIV, the body starts to produce HIV antibody in about 3-4 weeks. after 4 weeks, most patients can produce HIV antibody. The HIV antibody test can reflect whether the body is infected with HIV or not.
2. Syphilis antibody: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by infection with the syphilis spirochete. If the syphilis antibody is negative, it indicates that there is no syphilis infection. If the syphilis antibody is positive, it indicates the presence of syphilis infection, but it does not mean that one has to be in the stage of syphilis infection, because as long as one is infected with syphilis, the antibody test will be positive, even after systemic treatment.
3. Hepatitis B antigen: The reason for checking the hepatitis B antigen instead of the hepatitis B antibody in determining the presence of the hepatitis B virus is that some people who have received the hepatitis B vaccine may be positive for the hepatitis B antibody, which may affect the results of the test.
4. Hepatitis C Antibody: The Hepatitis C Antibody test can be used to check whether a person is infected with the Hepatitis C virus and to find out whether the current condition is in an acute or chronic stage.
Before any surgery, blood transfusion and use of biological products, a four infection test is required to determine the presence of HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. The test is also used to detect the presence of hepatitis B virus.
