Open craniocerebral injury is a combined injury to the scalp, skull and intracranial structures caused by the open injury to various layers of tissues in the cranium and the direct communication between the cranial cavity and the outside world, mainly including scalp laceration, open skull fracture and open brain injury.
Open craniocerebral injury produces different parts and forms of injury, and the clinical manifestations are also different, which can appear consciousness disorder, hemiparesis, aphasia, epilepsy, headache, vomiting and other symptoms. In severe cases, such as severe intracranial pressure elevation, there may be progressive consciousness disorder, or even brain hernia, usually with poor prognosis, and even life-threatening in particularly severe cases.
Open craniocerebral injury is usually complicated and serious, after reasonable and effective on-site first-aid treatment, it should be immediately transferred to hospital for treatment.
