There are two general causes of ear water: 1. Symptoms associated with acute otitis externa or eczema attacks. Symptoms related to the external ear canal due to damage to the mucous membrane of the external ear canal skin caused by repeatedly pulling out the ear, or due to water entering the external ear canal. On examination, the skin at the opening of the external ear canal is red, swollen, cracked, and exuding a yellowish watery substance. Patients may experience pain in the external ear canal, local itching and other related symptoms. In the treatment of otitis externa, topical neomycin ointment is used, or Eloson ointment is used twice a day and repeatedly wiped for about a week to gradually heal. 2. Symptoms related to acute otitis media. Due to inflammation, retrograde infection of the eustachian tube leads to fluid accumulation in the middle ear cavity causing perforation of the eardrum, resulting in pus-like discharge from the external ear canal. In the acute stage of treatment, symptomatic anti-inflammatory treatment is needed, and fluid infusion is required, and ceftriaxone sodium and cefotaxime sodium can be input for treatment, which can gradually heal in about a week.
