Treatment of basal cell carcinoma

Treatment methods for basal cell carcinoma include surgery, drugs, radiotherapy, laser therapy, etc. Surgical resection is still preferred in clinical treatment of basal cell carcinoma.
1. Surgical resection: if the invasive ulcer is deep or grows in uneven special parts, which is not suitable for other treatments, it can be surgically resected, and the surgical methods include: local flap transfer repair, implantation, Mohs micrographic surgery and so on.
2. Drug therapy: basal cell carcinoma is not sensitive to chemotherapeutic drugs, so drug therapy mainly refers to local drug therapy, and commonly used drugs include fluorouracil, imiquimod, vinblastine, interferon, interleukin-2 and so on.
3. Radiotherapy: basal cell carcinoma is sensitive to radiotherapy, which is suitable for those who cannot be completely resected by surgery or those who do not want to be operated such as the elderly.
4. Laser therapy: mainly adopt carbon dioxide laser.
The above treatments should be formulated by professional doctors according to patients’ specific conditions.
