What is considered normal blood pressure?

A blood pressure of 90 to 140 mmHg systolic (high pressure) and 60 to 90 mmHg diastolic (low pressure) is considered normal. Systolic blood pressure <120mmHg and diastolic blood pressure <80mmHg are considered normal standard blood pressure levels. Systolic blood pressure of 120~139mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure of 80~89mmHg are considered normal high value blood pressure levels, and people within the range of the above blood pressure are also considered normal blood pressure. However, if the systolic blood pressure is ≥140mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure is ≥90mmHg when measured on the upper arm with an electronic sphygmomanometer or a mercury sphygmomanometer in a quiet state, three measurements taken on a different day are diagnostic of high blood pressure. After the diagnosis of hypertension is confirmed, the first step is to identify the cause of the disease, make lifestyle adjustments, such as a low-salt, low-fat diet with a salt intake of less than six grams per day, take fresh fruits and vegetables, and also use fruits that are high in potassium, such as bananas and kiwis, etc., and increase appropriate exercise, and take blood pressure-lowering medication under the guidance of a physician if necessary. Systolic blood pressure <90mmHg and diastolic blood pressure <60mmHg are considered as low blood pressure. Patients with low blood pressure need to strengthen nutrition to enhance immunity, increase moderate exercise, and if necessary, take medication according to the doctor's instructions, such as fludrocortisone, shengqin drink and so on. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended. If there is any abnormality in blood pressure, immediate medical consultation is recommended to avoid delaying the condition.
