Sperm test report needs to analyze whether the sperm activity rate, sperm motility, sperm density, total sperm count and sperm morphology are normal.
According to the fifth edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) standards for semen analysis, the commonly used indicators for sperm examination reports are as follows:
1. Sperm motility: the lower limit of normal reference value is 58%. If the sperm motility is less than 40%, it will easily cause male infertility.
2. Sperm motility: the ability of forward motion of sperm, the lower limit of the reference value of total motility (forward motion + non-forward motion) is 40%, and the lower limit of the reference value of forward motion is 32%.
3. Sperm density: the lower reference limit of sperm density is 15*10^9/L, consistently less than 15*10^9/L is considered oligozoospermia, and repeated absence of sperm is called azoospermia. Decreased sperm density and azoospermia are the main causes of infertility, and the causes of decreased sperm concentration include testicular pathology, vas deferens disease, and endocrine disease.
4. Total sperm count: the lower reference limit of normal total sperm count is 39*10^6.
5. Sperm morphology: the lower reference limit of normal sperm morphology is 4%, and the increase of abnormal sperm morphology is commonly seen in testicular and epididymal function abnormalities, varicocele, and so on.
To summarize, if the sperm test report is abnormal, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time.
