Waking up early with dizziness and feeling like the sky is spinning

Early morning dizziness and a feeling of spinning in the sky may be related to otoliths, or it may be caused by postural hypotension or posterior circulation ischemia. In terms of treatment, it is mainly to reset the otolith or apply relevant therapeutic drugs for the primary disease.
1. Otolithiasis: When waking up in the morning, due to the sudden change of head position, otoliths may be dislodged into the semicircular canals, which may cause dizziness in the early morning and a feeling of rotation. No special treatment is needed for this condition. If the symptoms recur frequently and seriously affect your daily life or work, otolith reset treatment should be carried out by your doctor.
2. Postural hypotension: When getting up in the morning, because of getting up too quickly and violently, it is easy to induce postural hypotension, resulting in low perfusion of the brain, which may cause dizziness in the early morning, feeling the sky spinning. Usually, no special intervention is needed. If the symptoms are severe, they can be relieved with drugs such as midodrine and fludrocortisone.
3. Posterior circulation ischemia: Commonly found in elderly people with cerebral atherosclerosis, it is easy to have posterior circulation ischemia at night or in the early morning, resulting in insufficient cerebral perfusion, especially ischemia of the cerebellum and the brain stem, which is prone to dizziness early in the morning and a feeling of spinning around in the world. Antiplatelet aggregation drugs such as clopidogrel and aspirin can be applied to improve the hypercoagulable state of blood.
Dizziness early in the morning, feeling dizzy, should be as early as possible to seek medical treatment, through the improvement of relevant examinations, a clear diagnosis of the causative factors, and then give targeted treatment.
