When to take ezetimibe tablets

Ezetimibe tablets can be taken at any time of the day, either on an empty stomach or with food, and the patient chooses the time to take the medication according to his or her situation. However, it should be noted that if it is necessary to combine with bile acid sequestrants, the product should be taken more than 2 hours before or more than 4 hours after taking bile acid sequestrants.
Ezetimibe Tablet is a lipid-regulating drug indicated for primary hypercholesterolemia, pure familial hypercholesterolemia, and pure glutathionemia (or phytosterolemia). There is no fixed time for taking this product, but it should be noted that a low-fat diet needs to be adhered to during the medication period to avoid affecting the efficacy of the drug.
Most patients tolerate ezetimibe tablets well, and individual patients may experience mild and transient side effects such as abdominal pain, intestinal gas, diarrhea, and fatigue. In combination with statins, it may cause abnormalities such as myalgia, malaise, peripheral edema, and headache. In combination with fenofibrate, there is a risk of abdominal pain.
To avoid compromising the effectiveness of the drug or serious risks of using the drug, patients are advised to take ezetimibe tablets as prescribed by their doctor.
