The onset of benign thyroid tumor is mostly in the active thyroid function period, i.e. 20-40 years old, and decreases gradually after 40 years old, with women being the most common. The symptoms of benign thyroid tumor are not obvious, most of the patients do not have obvious feeling, usually they find the swelling in the front of the neck unintentionally. The symptoms of benign thyroid tumor are as follows: 1. Round or oval nodules appear in the neck, mostly solitary. It is slightly hard, smooth surface, no pressure pain, and moves up and down with swallowing. 2.Patients with benign thyroid tumor have no symptoms in most cases. 3. Benign thyroid tumors grow slowly. When papillary cystic adenoma has intracapsular hemorrhage due to rupture of blood vessels in the cyst wall, the tumor may increase rapidly in a short period of time and local distension and pain may appear.
