Lung cavities do not usually heal on their own. Pneumonia, tuberculosis and lung cancer are the main causes of lung cavities, and they are generally unlikely to heal on their own. 1. Pneumonia: Pneumonia caused by Staphylococcus aureus infection is a kind of severe infection, which will lead to the emergence of lung cavities and other phenomena, and will seldom heal without treatment, but can be healed after active treatment. Anti-infection treatment is often given, such as penicillin, cephalosporin antibiotics. 2. Tuberculosis: Cavitary tuberculosis is a more serious disease and is contagious, it needs to be treated as soon as possible, but the cavity cannot be completely healed after treatment. Anti-tuberculosis drugs such as isoniazid and rifampicin are often given in combination. 3. Cancer: Lung cavities formed by cancer patients do not have the possibility of healing on their own, and even if effective treatment is taken, there is little chance of healing. It is often treated by surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The chances of lung cavities healing on their own after formation are relatively low, but effective treatment should still be taken to address the cause of the disease.
