Why are some asthma medications used temporarily

Combination medication is mainly considered the respective roles of various medications in the treatment. Doctors advocate the use of daily fixed drugs called controlling drugs, the representative drugs are inhaled hormones, which mainly play an anti-inflammatory role to control the exacerbation of asthma through anti-inflammation. In addition to inhaled hormones, slow-release theophylline, long-acting bronchodilator inhalers, and leukotriene modifiers are also controlled medications, but inhaled hormones are the most basic medications. For patients with mild disease, they can be treated with inhaled hormones alone, but for patients who are not well controlled by inhaled hormones or have severe disease, combination medication is advocated. The combination is based on inhaled hormones and then combined with other medications, including long-acting bronchodilator inhalers, slow-release theophylline and leukotriene modifiers. Temporary on-demand medications are palliative medications, which usually do not have anti-inflammatory effects, but only bronchodilatory effects, relieving more severe asthma symptoms for a short period of time. Patients should consult their physicians to find out the nature and use of each drug before using them, e.g. salbutamol should be used temporarily and long-term use in large quantities is not advocated.
