Can a tubalogram reveal uterine adhesions?

Tubal ultrasonography can reveal uterine adhesions, which are caused by endometrial damage, such as multiple abortions or diagnostic scraping surgery that destroys the endometrium and cannot be repaired well, and the uterine walls are adhered and fused together. Depending on the location, degree and size of the adhesions, the clinical manifestations are different, such as amenorrhea, menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea, repeated miscarriages and infertility. Uterine adhesions are manifested as endometrial discontinuity, interruption, and adhesive bands on ultrasonography. In case of membranous adhesions, they are not visible on negative ultrasound. Transuterine tubal ultrasonography involves injecting contrast medium and saline into the uterine cavity. The uterine cavity is lined with positive and negative contrast medium, which can show the location and extent of the uterine adhesions more clearly, including membranous adhesion bands, uterine polyps, and so on.
