Deficiency of stomach yin can be regulated by traditional Chinese medicine, commonly used herbs include Nansha Ginseng and Maitong. Nansha Ginseng has the effects of nourishing yin to clear the lungs (by nourishing the fluid in the lungs to get rid of lung-heat), benefiting the stomach to generate fluids (by replenishing the fluids in the stomach to nourish the stomach), resolving phlegm, and benefiting the qi. It is used in the treatment of lung-heat and dry coughs, coughing with labored yin, dry coughs with phlegm and sticky sputum, deficiency of gastric yin (insufficient yin fluid in the stomach), scarcity of food and vomiting, deficiency of qi and yin, and irritable-heat (restlessness and sultriness) with dry mouth. This product should not be used in conjunction with veratrum. Ophiopogon has the efficacy of nourishing Yin and generating fluid, moistening the lung and clearing the heart, and is used in the treatment of dry cough of the lung, cough with deficiency of Yin, paralysis of the throat (redness, swelling and pain in the pharynx, dryness, feeling of foreign body, itching and discomfort in the pharynx, dysphagia), sore throat, thirst due to injury of fluid, thirst due to internal heat (fever accompanied by symptoms such as overeating, excessive drinking, excessive urination, etc.), insomnia due to heartburn and insomnia, and constipation due to dryness of the intestines. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this product are not clear.
