Side effects of diuretic injections

Usually, when diuretic injections are given for a short period of time, their therapeutic effect is greater than their side effects, and they have little effect on the normal metabolism of the body, so the side effects are not obvious. However, if used for a long time and in large doses, the side effects may be more obvious, such as electrolyte disorders, abnormal lipid metabolism and uric acid elevation, decreased glucose tolerance, decreased blood pressure, etc. 1, electrolyte disorders: there are many types of diuretics, such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, spironolactone and so on, all of which have the potential to cause electrolyte disorders. Among them, furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide may lead to low potassium, because in the diuretic at the same time, its role in the renal tubules of the kidneys, promote the discharge of potassium ions; and spironolactone role is opposite, it will discharge sodium ions in the body at the same time as the diuretic and save the body’s potassium ions, resulting in low sodium, therefore, the clinic often use furosemide and spironolactone combination, to reduce the incidence of electrolyte disorders. When electrolyte disorders occur, they need to be corrected in time to avoid arrhythmia, fatigue, loss of appetite and other abnormalities; 2, abnormal lipid metabolism and elevated uric acid: hydrochlorothiazide can cause abnormal lipid metabolism and elevated uric acid, which can interfere with the renal tubular excretion of uric acid, and promote cholesterol synthesis. Applicators need to pay attention to, elevated uric acid can cause hyperuricemia, induced gout, so the long-term use of hydrochlorothiazide need to be regularly rechecked renal function and blood lipids; 3, reduced glucose tolerance: diuretic needles will make the inhibition of insulin secretion, the body’s receptivity to insulin is reduced, resulting in elevated blood glucose; 4, blood pressure: diuretic needles have a diuretic effect, due to a large amount of urine excretion in the body, which may cause hypovolemia, and thus cause postural hypotension. And then cause postural hypotension, so the application of diuretic injection should pay attention to detect changes in blood pressure. In addition to causing the above side effects, when playing diuretic injection, some people may also have allergic reactions, so in the use of diuretics, we should strictly comply with the doctor’s instructions, if the organism appears uncomfortable symptoms to consult a doctor in a timely manner, so as not to cause adverse situations.
