Which is worse, astigmatism or glare?

Astigmatism is an eye condition, while glare is an eye discomfort, and the two cannot be compared in terms of severity. Astigmatism is a common refractive error. The refractive state in which parallel rays of light enter the interior of the eye and are difficult to form a focal point on the retina and form a line of focus. The common cause of astigmatism is the inconsistency of the radius of curvature of the cornea’s various diameters in terms of size. Patients with astigmatism may experience discomfort such as double vision and decreased visual acuity, as well as symptoms of glare at night. Glare is a common eye discomfort symptom that occurs mostly in the early stages after myopic laser correction because of the interference of higher order aberrations with the quality of vision in the human eye. Patients may report circles and halos of light around bright objects at night, and lighter colors of objects. It is not possible to compare the two, which is more serious. It is recommended that patients experiencing similar eye discomfort consult a regular hospital in a timely manner to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
