Squamous cell carcinoma, or squamous carcinoma for short, is the second most common skin malignancy, originating from keratin-forming cells of the skin epidermis and its appendages, and is found in exposed areas such as the scalp, face, neck and back of the hands. It can be ulcerated at an early stage and is often secondary to chronic ulcers or chronic sinus openings. The clinical appearance can be cauliflower-like, with irregularly elevated margins, uneven bases and easy bleeding, often accompanied by local infection. Patients with squamous cell carcinoma are advised to actively seek medical consultation and undergo comprehensive treatment with the help of doctors.
