What is the meaning of intrahepatic cystic lesions

For patients who check the upper abdominal ultrasound, suggesting cystic lesions in the liver, consider the possibility of liver cysts. For multiple hepatic cysts, it is also necessary to see if there is a possibility of renal cysts on both kidneys. If there is a combination of multiple cysts on both kidneys and multiple cysts on the liver, consider the possibility that the patient has polycystic kidney. This disease is hereditary, there is no special treatment, and patients need to be observed regularly. If the liver cyst or kidney cyst is more than 5 cm and there are certain discomfort symptoms, laparoscopic cyst opening and debulking drainage can be considered. Some patients who are not willing to undergo surgery and whose physical condition does not allow it can also undergo ultrasound-guided hepatic cyst puncture and drainage and, if appropriate, destruction of the cyst wall by transcatheter injection of anhydrous alcohol, but there is a high recurrence rate. In addition, for common hepatic multiple cysts, or solitary cysts, periodic review of upper abdominal ultrasound is needed to see the size and diameter of the patient’s liver cysts. At this time, patients need to be differentiated from other liver diseases, especially for metastatic tumors in the liver, if necessary, they need to have an enhanced CT and MRI of the upper abdomen. If the diameter of liver cyst is greater than 5cm, laparoscopic drainage of liver cyst or ultrasound-guided puncture and drainage of liver cyst should be considered if necessary.
