Acupuncture points that can be massaged for excessive dreaming include Shenmen, Sanyinjiao and Neiguan. However, the specific use of acupuncture points should be decided by the doctor according to the patient’s condition.
Shenmen is located in the anterior wrist area, the ulnar end of the transverse stripe on the distal side of the palm of the wrist, and the radial edge of the ulnar flexor carpi radialis tendon. It is used for treating heartache, heartburn, palpitations, forgetfulness, insomnia, dementia, epilepsy, hypertension, and pain in the chest and ribs.
Sanyinjiao (三阴交), located on the inner side of the lower leg, 3 inches above the tip of the inner ankle, at the posterior margin of the medial edge of the tibia. It treats intestinal tinnitus, abdominal distension, diarrhea, spermatorrhea, impotence, enuresis, palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), insomnia, hypertension, paralysis of the lower limbs (weakness, numbness and pain in the lower limbs), and signs of yin deficiency.
Neiguan is located in the anterior region of the forearm, 2 inches above the transverse stripe on the distal part of the palmar side of the wrist, between the tendon of the palmaris longus and the tendon of the radial flexor carpi radialis. It is used for treating heart pain, chest tightness, tachycardia or bradycardia, stomach pain, vomiting, eructation (hiccups), stroke, hemiplegia, vertigo, migraine, insomnia, epilepsy, and elbow/arm/wrist contracture pain.
If massage therapy is needed, it is recommended to visit a professional medical institution.
