Is aortic coarctation type III serious?

Aortic coarctation type III is less severe compared to aortic coarctation type I and II. In type III aortic coarctation, the rupture of the aortic coarctation is mainly located 2-5 cm distal to the opening of the left subclavian artery and involves the common iliac artery distally. Because it does not involve the entire aorta, it is not serious compared to types I and II. In this type of aortic coarctation, surgical treatment is an option, and surgical treatment is most often chosen with overlapping stent isolation. The advantages of overlapping stent isolation treatment are less trauma, less bleeding, faster recovery and lower mortality. Therefore, for aortic coarctation type III, this procedure can be tolerated for people of advanced age and poor general condition, and it is relatively light aortic coarctation.
