How long does it take to recover from a ruptured tendon in the middle finger

It takes about 3 months for the middle finger tendon rupture to return to the normal level, which includes two parts: 1) after the surgical suture fixation, it takes 3-4 weeks for the whole tendon to heal; 2) after the healing, the external fixation is removed, and it takes about 2 months to return to the normal level by performing the functional rehabilitation exercises of straightening and bending of the finger joints. Only the healing time of 3-4 weeks is fixed, and the time for the whole range of motion to be restored depends on the effect of the patient’s functional rehabilitation exercises. Some patients can recover in 1 month or even in some cases, the effect of rehabilitation exercise is poor, there is no way to recover in 2-3 months, or even cause tendon adhesion, limited range of motion sequelae. The whole process of recovery requires the active cooperation of the patient.
