The new edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2016) consists of three parts: Dietary Guidelines for the General Population, Dietary Guidelines for Specific Populations and Balanced Dietary Practices for Chinese Residents, with six core recommendations for all healthy people over 2 years old. The new edition of the guidelines also uses three new graphics with Chinese elements – the Chinese Dietary Pagoda, the Chinese Dietary Plate and the Children’s Dietary Abacus, each of which is specific and complementary to each other. These graphics make the food structure ratio more intuitive, concise and clear, and easy for people to understand and remember.
