The dry eye discharge in the morning may be caused by conjunctivitis, dacryocystitis, blepharitis and so on.
1. Conjunctivitis: Conjunctivitis may be caused by various pathogenic bacterial infections, physical stimulation, etc. Due to inflammatory stimulation, patients may have increased ocular secretions, which may lead to the manifestation of dry eye droppings in the morning.
2. Dacryocystitis: If the patient’s nasolacrimal duct is narrowed or obstructed, and secondary infection, the patient may have dacryocystitis. Due to the local inflammatory stimulation, patients may experience redness and swelling of the eyelids, pain, increased secretions and other discomforts, and thus may also have dry eye discharge in the morning.
