With the continuous improvement of people’s living standards and the 2008 Olympic Games to be held in Beijing, national fitness and the professionalization of sports will be developed as never before, and sports injuries will definitely become a new challenge for orthopedic surgeons in China. In order to meet this challenge, the Department of Sports Injury Orthopedics was established under the Sports Medicine Center. The Sports Injury Department is mainly composed of the former Arthroscopic Specialized Group of Traumatology and the Shoulder Specialized Group. At present, the main focus is on the knee and shoulder joints to carry out large-scale various types of incision and arthroscopic surgery, on average, more than 800 cases of arthroscopic surgery are completed each year, including knee arthroscopic treatment of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament and multiple ligament reconstruction and meniscal injury, meniscal transplantation, etc., shoulder joint instability, rotator cuff injury, etc. He has performed more than 150 cases/year of shoulder arthroscopic surgery, as well as reconstructive surgery for shoulder joint trauma and artificial shoulder joint replacement. Our treatment philosophy and surgical techniques are in line with the international advanced level.
