Eyelash entropion, also known as lid entropion, may be caused by developmental abnormalities, scar contraction, age-related degenerative or spasmodic trachoma and other conditions.
1. Scar contraction: First of all, it may be the scar contraction of the eyelid during the repair process caused by chemical injuries such as strong acid and alkali, trauma repair, or Chlamydia trachomatis infection. Generally, there is no particularly effective medication to treat scarring, and surgery can be performed to loosen the scar in severe cases.
2. Developmental abnormalities: Eyelid entropion may be caused by abnormalities in the development process from childhood. Uneven development of tissues inside and outside the eyelid can lead to the appearance of corresponding inverted eyelashes, eye irritation and foreign body sensation or even infections and inflammation, etc., and when the symptoms are obvious, it is necessary to consult a doctor in a timely manner;
3. In addition, it may also be caused by the relaxation of the skin, orbital septum and other tissues due to ageing, which can be treated by autologous fat filling and other methods.
4. Age degenerative or spasmodic trachoma: spasmodic entropion occurs when the eyelid is stimulated by functional inflammation or foreign body, etc. The performance is mild and can be treated with moisturizing and restorative treatments such as sodium vitrate, and the symptoms are obvious and can be treated with surgeries such as orbicularis oculi muscle excision with skin suture.
It is recommended that if you have an inward turning of the eyelid, accompanied by obvious foreign body sensation, redness and swelling, you should consult a doctor in time, improve the slit lamp microscope and other auxiliary examination, and then according to the severity and cause of the disease to be corresponding treatment.
