Carotid artery CTA is a physical examination of the carotid arteries. It is a very effective means of comparing the degree of carotid artery stenosis by contrast through the CT scan and the injection of contrast into the blood vessels, mainly for carotid arteries, aneurysms, and atherosclerosis. The gold standard for carotid artery diagnosis is carotid artery angiography, in which a catheter is inserted into the carotid artery and contrast is injected at the same time, and the image is received under radiation, enabling a comprehensive understanding of the carotid artery. Currently, CTA can completely replace carotid angiography and is also the gold standard for the diagnosis of carotid artery, and its specificity and sensitivity are very high for the diagnosis of common carotid artery diseases, such as arterial stenosis or aneurysm.
