Methylcobalamin is used to nourish the nerves and fight anemia, with side effects such as decreased blood pressure, dyspnea, and skin rashes. Methylcobalamin can nourish the nerves and is suitable for the treatment of facial sensitivity, pain, gradual numbness and tingling in the feet or hands, muscle weakness and muscle atrophy in patients with peripheral neuropathies; it is often used in combination with folic acid for the treatment of megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B₁₂ deficiency.
