Infantile hemangioma is a common benign tumor in infants and young children, most of the hemangiomas in infants have a growth cycle, and in the early stage, which is the early rapid proliferation period, the treatment is usually based on conservative observation. At the early stage of hemangioma, most of them are asymptomatic, or manifested as red dots or small red spots on the skin. Some hemangiomas may manifest as blue-purple color with unclear boundary, and the size of hemangiomas varies according to different physique of infants, and they will gradually increase in size or deepen in color after being pressed, and the color of the skin can be restored to normal after releasing the pressure. Hemangioma has certain self-limitation and may heal by itself, so the changes of hemangioma are often observed conservatively at the beginning. Some early stage hemangiomas can also be treated with propranolol and glucocorticoid drugs under doctor’s guidance, which can block the cell cycle of hemangiomas, reduce the level of matrix metalloproteinase, endothelial cells and other angiogenic factors, thus blocking the supply of nutrients to hemangiomas, and then play a role in reducing hemangiomas, which is a relatively safe and effective method for infants. If the early stage of hemangioma is not satisfactory in conservative treatment, and there is a tendency to continue to increase, it can be treated by oral propranolol, local perfusion therapy, local surgical excision, laser, etc., which can make the tumor shrink gradually and finally achieve the goal of complete cure. Isotope dressing and X-ray irradiation should not be applied.
