The tapeworms that parasitize people are the pork tapeworm and the beef tapeworm, and the two types of tapeworms have different symptoms. Porcine tapeworm parasites may have epigastric pain, decreased or increased appetite, etc. Bovine tapeworms may have nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea and other symptoms.
1. Porcine tapeworm: Porcine tapeworm parasitizes the small intestine of human body with a length of 2~4m and usually has no obvious symptoms. A few patients may have epigastric pain, decreased or increased appetite, alternating diarrhea and constipation, weight loss, etc. Symptoms are usually obvious in children, and patients usually consult the doctor because of the tapeworm’s nodes in the stool.
2. Bovine tapeworm: It is longer than the pig tapeworm, usually 4~8m, and the symptoms of patients are relatively mild or without obvious symptoms. Bovine tapeworm nodules are more active and may come out from the anus, so patients may experience anal itching.
Some patients may also experience nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, etc. Some severe patients may also experience constipation and weight loss.
If the patient is not feeling well, he should go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease and treat the symptoms.
