The female adnexa refers to the fallopian tubes, ovaries, and the tracts and ligaments of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. Adnexal masses are lumps that grow in these locations, including cystic, solid, or cystic masses, and can be either physiologic or pathologic. In most cases, lumps in the adnexal area are physiologic and do not need to be treated. Patients are advised to have a review in 2-3 months, and when the review is done with an ultrasound after menstruation, the cysts will all disappear. If the mass in the adnexal area is solid or cystic mass persists and increases in size, it is considered that there is the possibility of malignant tumor, and there is the possibility of rupture or torsion of the mass, which needs to be treated with surgery. Depending on the size of the mass and the initial judgment of the clinical nature of the patient, laparoscopic surgery or open surgery can be chosen for treatment.
