What’s wrong with drinking honey directly from the throat?

There are mainly the following clinical reasons for drinking honey directly and feeling uncomfortable in the throat. In the first case, honey is a high-calorie, sugar-rich food, and clinically a stimulating food, not belonging to the light category. If patients drink it directly, it may easily lead to inflammatory irritation and other reactions in the throat, which may easily lead to phlegm production in the throat and other performances. In the second case, honey may contain bacteria, which may induce bacterial infections in the throat after drinking it directly. In the third case, the patient’s body is allergic to the components of honey, and once the pure honey is drunk, there is a local allergic reaction in the throat, resulting in throat discomfort. If pharyngitis is considered, oral medication for pharyngitis, laryngitis tablets, nebulization, drinking warm water, etc. can be applied for symptomatic treatment. If local allergy is considered and serious diseases such as laryngeal edema occur, clinical application of hormones and anti-allergy drugs are required for comprehensive symptomatic treatment.
