Long-term hormone application, be alert to glaucoma!

Hormonal glaucoma, secondary open-angle glaucoma caused by long-term local or systemic use of glucocorticoids. Clinical manifestations: similar to primary open-angle glaucoma. The degree of IOP elevation is related to the concentration and frequency of drops and the duration of drug use. The disease relies heavily on the history of medication use to confirm the diagnosis. In most cases, IOP gradually returns to normal after discontinuation of the medication. In a small number of patients, the IOP remains elevated after discontinuation of the medication and can be treated according to the principles of treatment for primary open-angle glaucoma.
