Drawing Zheng San is effective for facial paralysis caused by wind in the head and face meridians, but is not effective for facial paralysis caused by other reasons. It has the efficacy of dispelling wind and resolving phlegm (expelling wind and resolving phlegm), and relieving spasm by clearing the channels and stopping spasm. It is used for treating wind in the head and face meridians. Symptoms include askew mouth and eyes, or facial muscle twitching, pale red tongue and white moss. Clinically used for facial nerve paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, migraine, etc. belonging to the wind and phlegm obstruction. If the wind is heavy at the beginning, add Qiang Wu, Fang Feng, Bai Zhi Zhi, etc. to disperse the wind; if the disease has not healed for a long time, add Centipede, Dilong, Tianma, Tao Ren, Safflower, etc. to search for wind, eliminate blood stasis and clear the collaterals. It should not be used if there is deficiency of qi and blood stasis, or if there is internal movement of hepatic wind, such as as slanting of the mouth and eyes, hemiplegia (one side of the limb cannot move freely). White aconite and whole scorpion in this formula are toxic and should be used with caution. If the formula is to be used, it must be used under the guidance of a doctor.
