Asymmetry of the baby’s eyes is generally referred to as strabismus, and treatment often requires glasses, medication, and surgical correction.
1. For strabismus caused by refractive error, it is recommended to wear glasses or prisms with appropriate prescription after dilating the pupils.
2. If the strabismus is caused by refractive adjustment, it can be corrected by applying topical atropine drops to dilate the pupil of the eye.
3. If the effect of conservative treatment is unsatisfactory, or the development of periocular structures is abnormal, it is recommended to carry out surgical correction in time, and the methods of corrective surgery include muscle weakening surgery, muscle strengthening surgery and so on.
Parents are advised to bring their babies to the ophthalmology department of the hospital for a complete examination and early targeted treatment.
